Welcome to Foothills Presbytery,
a large presbytery in the Alberta and Northwest Conference of the United
Church. Located in the southern part of Alberta, with its congregations
nestled in the Rocky Mountain valleys and foothills to the west, situated
on the rolling prairies to the east, enjoying the temperate north and
the semi-arid south, Foothills Presbytery forms a large "donut"
surrounding Calgary Presbytery. The size and nature of the local congregations
are as diverse as the climate, ranging from moderately sized churches
in urban settings to small country congregations in the middle of fertile
farmland.
Two
things all of these churches have in common is their faith in Jesus Christ
and their eagerness to welcome visitors and newcomers.
